why is it that in Joliet you cant find any information on the history of the city and its interesting past?????? I love doing research on the history of old buildings and what really happened...... for most of my research i have to go to the public library, but even there they're missing documents and pictures....
i don't understand it...
if you try to look up information on the history of Chicago there's a lot for you to find and almost all of it is on the internet.... Either Joliet is trying to hide something or there's a big problem with people not knowing how to keep records.... Joliet has so much history that they can provide to educate our youth and even our older groups...... there's a whole section from around the 1900's and 1960's that's missing.... there's no information on the prohibition or what really went on during the market crash..... there are no markers for the places that influenced our city, like where silver cross hospital first sat, where the pest house(quarantine hill) was located, where monkey hill was, and i could go on for hours, but i think you get the point.... I've also tryed the historical society, where I've found out that if they don't want it to belong in Joliet there's no record of it..... i find that funny.........if you have any suggestions on the history on Joliet please leave a comment
